Brook and Liz Brown bought the "condemned" building in November of 1983 and completed the first phase of the restoration - the pub, chocolate shop, and four guest rooms in August 1984. Since then, the main inn has evolved into nine guest rooms in the main stone building with the pub and Beernstens Candies of Manitowoc on the first floor. The Weber Haus, an 1847 frame house across the street, was purchased by the Browns and converted into a guest house with three additional "whirlpool suites" (2 with fireplace) and a secret garden. Guests return to the main building in the morning for a continental breakfast of fresh ground coffee, juice, cereals, croissants and homemade muffins. Over the last 15 years the Inn's rooms have evolved to best meet the needs of the guests, yet they still maintain the historic nature of the building. Each room is unique and decorated with antique and period furniture. Of the 12 rooms, six are furnished with two-person whirlpools, in the room, and 2 suites also include fireplaces. The Stagecoach Inn is often referred to as "A Little Country Inn in the City". The location is ideal - within walking distance to shops and restaurants throughout the downtown historic district..
