GENERAL HOOKER'S B&B is a superbly located antique home in a QUIET, secure, HISTORIC DISTRICT, Lair Hill, a little Victorian village within a reasonable walk of our gorgeous, award-winning Downtown. There you will find the Art Museum, the Center for the Performing Arts, top galleries, best restaurants, elegant shopping and exciting people-watching. A ten minute drive East will take you to OMSI; West, to the fabled Northwest District (NW 21st avenue probably provides the most provocative dining possibilities in the entire region), or a little farther west, to Washington Park; North, to a celebration at Waterfront Park; South, to the business district at John's Landing.
The inn features many distinctive amenities such as the extensive film and reference libraries; the honor bar and central electronic air filtration as well as A/C (yes, we do need air conditioning in Portland four months of the year). Helpful host is a 4th generation Portlander who really knows what's going on in town and will do her best to help you make the most of your time in the Northwest. A continental-plus, heart hearty, vegetarian breakfast is served family-style between 7-9 AM (early to accommodate our business travelers).
