The first bed & breakfast to open in the city, the Inn is located across the street from the residence used in the movie "Bull Durham." In 1992 Jim won the name-the-mascot contest for the Durham Bulls Baseball Team and guests now receive complimentary tickets to all Durham Bull's home baseball games. The Inn offers four large guest rooms featuring 10-foot coffered ceilings, fireplaces, ceiling fans, period furnishings, and beautiful oak and pine floors. The Lavender room, a favorite rear bedroom, features nine lace covered windows, a painted iron bed and a whirlpool tub. A two-room suite with a queen & double bed is also available for families. Warm hospitality and personal service are key elements of this Inn's success. A complimentary breakfast including fresh fruit, homebaked muffins, and carefully prepared entrees is served daily in the dining room. Vegetarian and diabetic friendly menus are also available. The rocker-lined wraparound porch is a favorite spot for enjoying complimentary refreshments, especially homemade treats from the always stocked cookie jar.
