Walking Iron Bed And Breakfast, Mazomanie, Wisconsin
Walking Iron Bed and Breakfast is a historic 1865 Victorian Italianate home located at 21 State Street, one-quarter mile north of highway 14, in Mazomanie, WI. Your hosts, David and Karisa Friske, offer warm hospitality in an elegant setting. Guests will find the quiet, romantic atmosphere especially pleasing. The spacious house and grounds invite you to explore the third-floor library, Victorian parlor, sitting room, and over eighty feet of porches.
Named after the builder of our home and decorated in the Italianate style, the William Thompson Room contains rich burgundy wallpaper, regal carpet, hand-painted lincrusta frieze and ceiling medallion. A queen-sized half-canopied iron bed with pillow-topped mattress and adjoining private bath featuring classic-styled fixtures, ceramic floor tile and six-foot double whirlpool, give this room a sense of royalty.
Lenora's Garden View is named for Lenora Kester, the Doctor’s wife who lived in the house from 1899 to 1954 and especially enjoyed her gardens. The room overlooks a perennial garden and features a Victorian floral decor. World travel is the theme here, making this a perfect room to relax and reflect. A king-sized full-canopied iron bed, large private bath, English Art-Noveau shower tiles and wicker furniture create a peaceful, comfortable atmosphere. Surrounding the corner whirlpool are hand-cast plaster cartouches depicting morning and night.
