"Romance and Elegance" is the theme of this pampered getaway surrounded by 115 acres of fields, hills and maple woods overlooking Spirit Lake. Choose the nostalgia and charm of the 1889 Log House or the luxury of the turn-of-the-century Homestead.

The Log House (the Innkeeper's great-grandfather's) still wears its original interior whitewash and is decorated in country style. Framed newspaper fragments found in the walls hang throughout the house. Matilda's room's logs show as well and sports a king bed. Anna's has a queen bed and a private screen porch and deck.

The Homestead offers a more elegant option. All three bedrooms have balconies overlooking the lake, queen beds, and roomy sitting areas. Nestled under the eaves, The Fredholm Suite is done in Swedish primitive. Skylights flood the space with light. The fireplace is visible from both the bed and whirlpool. The sitting area gable is all glass.

Early morning beverage and paper is delivered daily to all five guest rooms. Breakfast is served by the fire in the Log House (or screen porch in warm weather). At the Homestead service is in-room on linen-dressed teacarts. The Suite has its own breakfast room.
