Welcome to The Inn at Shadow Lawn, a comfortably elegant inn designed for Hamilton Hoppin by the famous architect, Richard Upjohn. Stepping inside our historical 142-year old mansion is like entering a wonderfully grand Victorian painting. The doors open wide to a warm, old-fashioned ambiance of French Crystal chandeliers, pastel-stained glass and classical music. Full breakfast is served upon heirloom china in our lovely stenciled dining room, an airy confection of lace and blossoms. Afterwards, spend the day in historic Newport or enjoy the peaceful bliss with a good book in the library or our magical sitting room of teal and gold. Outside, folks love our beautiful rolling lawns and flower-graced veranda and the sweet tinkling of windchimes in the fragrant breeze. Just five minutes from beaches, the bird sanctuary and downtown Newport, this lovingly restored 19th century manor estate is owned and operated by the mother-son team of Selma and Randy Fabricant. Each spacious guest room is distinctive and named for a female Victorian writer. The Inn at Shadow Lawn is listed in the National Register of Historic Places ideal for weddings, receptions, small conferences and meetings.
