Salmen-Fritchie House, Slidell, Louisiana

Slidell Louisiana Bed and Breakfast in Victorian Setting

Salmen-Fritchie House, home to one of Slidell's earliest business leaders and one time mayor, was built in 1895. Listed on the National Historic Register, this Victorian Mansion sits on a 4 acre city block, filled with 300 year old oak trees. With careful attention to detail, the Fritchie's have brought the house back to it's original grandeur. Inside, the house is filled with period pieces from the early 1800's. There are five guestrooms in the main house and a cottage on the property that sleeps up to four people, all with private bath and their own personality. The porches are so inviting with their wicker chairs and swings. It's a great place to have that 2nd cup of coffee after your full breakfast in the morning. The bedrooms are decorated with outstanding period beds. Some are canopied, some are four poster hand carved mahogany, and all are romantic and await your arrival. In the morning wake to the smell of coffee and bacon frying and fresh double blueberry streusil topped muffins baking. A usual choice of Creole Omelette or Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream topping awaits your selection. Come, enter this stepback in time.
