Originally built in 1889, The State House Inn was completely renovated n 1990 to bled its historical charm with the ease of modern fixtures and features. An artful blend of antiques, reproduction furniture and authentic decorations and design create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Guest rooms are air-conditioned and attractively appointed with Early-American style furnishings and décor. King- and Queen-size beds, private baths, cable television and a telephone are in all rooms. Special accommodations include a canopy bed and/or a fireplace, a room with a desk, modem hookup utility, or refrigerator. Rates include a delicious, hearty full breakfast served daily in our breakfast room.

Directions: Route 95 North or South to Exit 22. Exit 22 forks, follow sign which points toward downtown. At the stoplight at the end of the exit, turn left onto Francis Street. Follow to next stop light. Turn left at light again – this is still Francis. Follow Francis until the next stoplight and turn left onto Smith Street. Take the third left onto Schaffer Street. The State House Inn is the second house on the left, on the corner of Schaffer and Jewett streets.
