The 26 room Creole Gardens Guesthouse, located in the lower Garden District, is a cluster of renovated 1840’s era buildings built around the historic plantation home of the infamous Reverend Benjamin Palmer just minutes from the French Quarter. Just one block off of St. Charles streetcars, Convention Center, and uptown attractions, the Creole Gardens is an in ideal location for both leisure and business travelers. The Creole Gardens is decorated with three basic themes for each of its main buildings, all of which open onto a lush banana courtyard overgrown with colorful seasonals, to provide our guests with the true New Orleans „indoor outdoor living. The old slave quarters have been converted into the Cottage rooms and have the most eclectic decor, ranging from festive and semi-tropical, to retro and kitschy, to shabby chic romantic, to the gothic sanctuary of the Jesus Room. The Bordello annex has seven richly appointed rooms decorated in the style of the old New Orleans Storyville-era bordellos and each named after a different notorious madam of the day, whose portrait hangs on the door. The red walls, lavish hanging lamps and over-the-top furnishings are perfect for couples looking to be transported to the decadence of the New Orleans of yore. For a more traditionally elegant stay, we offer our three Mansion rooms within the Master’s Manse, each featuring a king-size bed in a huge, magnificent, airy room with original hardwood floors and high ceilings, oversized beach-house style bathrooms with claw foot tubs and glass brick showers, wet bar areas, and private balconies. All our rooms have air-conditioning/heat, wi-fi wireless internet access, digital telephony, cable television and include a sumptuous full southern breakfast daily. We welcome pets and kids, and are walking distance from the New Orleans Children’s Museum, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the D-Day Museum. The Creole Gardens is also perfect for weddings, parties, and the perfect place for anyone with a sense of ideally located one block from the St. Charles streetcar line in what is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in the city, and according to the UTNE Reader, the hippest in the land.
