At Wingate Manor, a b&b on Maryland's Eastern Shore, we didn't do small
suburban newspapers, but we did do organizational newsletters for
3,000-4,000 person organizations. Is that similar? I think so, but not
sure. Anyway, those ads are usually VERY inexpensive, and they pulled
very sell. We were marketing to a very specific market niche (birders)
and advertised in local and regional birding newsletters. We also got a
couple of free lance birding writers to come to the b&b (comp'd) with
the agreement that they would write for the newsletters about the b&b.
That brought lots of business, also.
