At Zephyr Glen we have all old locks. Two are carpenter type ca 1840 and
one is a box lock. The Carpenters have built in deadbolts but the keys
are awkward and difficult to use. For the box lock you can get cast iron
or brass deadbolts of appropriate age. We get keys made at 18th Century
Hardware in Derry PA. they have also made latchplates for our carpenter
locks. There is always some compromise in a historic property
