In our experience, the U.S. traveller (at least the ones with a preference for B&Bs and/or country inns) does differentiate between the two. Country inns are larger (more than 6 or 7 rooms, I would say) and serve dinner, normally to the public. That's what they tell us, at least. Chip -- Charles E.
