I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone for participating
in these discussion groups. They are so rewarding and powerful, and
it is so much fun to watch the interaction and valuable discussions.
You really provide a great service to one another.
Also, thank you very much for your patience when there is some "lag
time" * periodically * between messages and postings. When I am out
of town - and do not drag my PowerBook with me - you will experience
some delays since, at this point, I am the only PAII person whose
nimble little fingers approve and post each message. When PAII HQ
moves into to larger quarters late this spring, the rest of our staff
will have their email accounts active.
As you all know, and are very good about, these two discussion groups
are not intended for "advertising. However, since the groups are
PAII-maintained and sponsored, I am going to take this opportunity to
bring you up-to-date on a few nifty new PAII activities:
**Watch your April newsletter. The large announcement of the new
PAII/CBA relationship is announced. You'll learn all about how PAII
and Gail Greco's Cooking and Baking Association for B&Bs and Country
Inns will rock the industry, and can benefit each of you.
**Watch for information on the first in a series of PAII/CBA national
food conferences.
THE FOOD FRONTIER: BLAZING CULINARY TRAILS FOR THE GUEST ADVENTURE
premieres at Old Sturbridge, MA -- November 10-12, 1997. Gail has
planned an incredible program. There will be a marvelously focused
trade show, along with demonstrations and workshops by some of the
country's greatest chefs. Mark your calendars. You won't want to miss
it!
**And while you're marking calendars, here's the big one: BRING YOUR
HEART TO SAN FRANCISCO
PAII V =80 March 29-April, 1998 =80 Fairmont Hotel =80 San Francisco
The PAII V Program Planning Committees are working right now on RFPs,
and are they ever busy. Plus, The California committee has just found
the perfect venue - walking distance from the Fairmont - in which to
hold the Sunday night "Discover the Californias" bash. Hey, what more
could one want? A 5-diamond hotel (with a great room rate of $145),
an awesome 100+ booth trade show, 100 workshop presenters, plus,
plus, plus...and, P.S. Better shake the mothballs out of some of
those 60s retro clothes, 'cause you'll never know what surprise a
PAII conference is gonna send your way on Wednesday evening (hey, it
is April Fool's Day after all). :-)
*****This industry of B&B and country inns thrives and grows because
of people like you. Thank you again for your support and
participation.
