I think you are going in the right direction by using this forum. In North
Carolina we have a B&B Association with many innsitters joining as 
associate
members. We get to know them personally by networking at our meetings and 
by
getting references from other member inn owners. So, I guess my
recommendation is that you try your State Association. 

We also have a couple in our neighborhood, both professionals, who love to
innsit for us for short weekends or emergencies.  This has worked out very
well for both of us. They continue to be very enthusiastic about the 
business
and, since they are both connected with the local university, have been a
great source for referrals.
