It has been six years since we opened our inn, and August was far and
away our best month ever! Our guest sources over the last 150
reservations:

34% local B&B Association brochure and hotline
24% world wide web (home page + on line guides)
19% print guide books (Mobil, Fodors, Best Places, etc)
14% guest returns and walk ins
 9% other

(note: our local B&B group has 14 members. we print 150,000 brochures
annually and our hotline fields 90+ calls daily in season. email me
directly if you want a copy of our group marketing plan to see how we
can afford this mailto:association@friday-harbor.com )

For 1998 we are discontinuing all paid print advertising, with the
exception of group marketing.

I commend all to read the PKF Consulting study commissioned by PAII
which shows the impact of web marketing. Also, to read the article in
this month's issue of Bed & Breakfast Magazine detailing the results of
an in depth survey of innkeepers on line.

Is the web working as well for you?
