When I was in seminary we hosted for several months a young couple from
Kerala in South India a glass of warm milk in the evenings was enjoyed, I 
hve
offered this to other visitors from India and they welcomed it. 
Forms of curry very highly and hotly seasoned are traditional, hard to get
correct Indian spices. 
 A greeting is "Nomistay"mean welcome and good health.  That is spelled
phonetically, not correct spelling.
