Re: innkeeping: Starting a B&B Association . . . Any Advice?

I've bveen involved with our state association for almost its full 8
years of existence, & we've weathered a couple of storms. I advise that:
1. Some sort of standards so you at least know that the other isn't
'white trash' B&B.
2. Get PAII's help in setting it up. Pat did a great job moderating our
organizing conference.
3. When you find people who are willing to work, make sure to reward
them with attaboys, etc. - maybe even (gasp) pay them.
4. Watch out for people with hidden agendas.
5. Get a PO Box or mail drop not dependent upon any a member inn, so
when the inevitable turnover occurs, you don't have to change
everything.
6. Develop a lot of tolerance.
