innkeeping: Area code changes

Here in area 412 a change has been brewing for about a year. The 
original plan was an overlay but about 60 days ago the PUC mandated a 
split. Yesterday I received notice from Bell Atlqantic that the new 724 
area code will start 2/198 and the 412 will be invalid after 4/29/98. 
Bell tells me that the message won't tell callers that the area code has 
changed but only this call cannot be completed as dialed. In the 
meantime all of my listings in B&B guidebooks either out now or coming 
out in the next few months list a number that will be incorrect by 
spring. Have any of your faced this? Are there any options! It won't 
help to get an 888 number because that can't get in the guides until 
next printing. I am contacting PTravel Council and Laurel Highlands TPA 
to see if they have any influence and I will complain to the PUC. Any 
good advice would be appreciated
