Re: Innkeeping: Great to hear from you

Hello Anita,

It doesn't really matter where geographically you're located; folks will find
you. It's not necessary to be in a whopping full-of-life town. We took over
our B&B here in Earlton, New York three years ago and it's tough--very tough,
and somtimes I say to myself "what am I doing here in the middle of nowhere
and is there any sense in continuing?" You're probably wondering "where in
the H_ _ _ is Earlton? That was OUR first question, and I'm sure others
wonder the same till they decide to come and stay, because we have a
beautiful website (I think) and it's inviting. Web marketing/advertising is
all important today for a B&B and it's simply a matter of what you say (or
show) in it. It DOES take time to build a guest list, Anita.

Before we decided to do this, I attended a B&B seminar in Boston for a small
fee and I tell you, it was worth every red cent because there was no
"painting the scenery"; it was very raw, very real with hard facts. However,
don't despair, it just takes time.

I wish you the best of luck!
