Wawbeek On Upper Saranac Lake, Saranac Lake, New York
The Wawbeek on Upper Saranac Lake is a turn of the century Great Camp set on a sprawl of forty acres extending from dense woods to a glade of giant hemlocks, from a wildflower field to lawns and a lovely beach and bay, from a bike and cross-country ski trail which meanders for a quarter mile along our shoreline with paths to the restaurant, Carriage House and beach. Two of our original Great Camp buildings, Mountain House Lodge and The Wawbeek Restaurant are perched high on a rock promontory overlooking the lake and the mountains beyond. Several cabins and a cottage overlook the beach and bay; and still others are nestled in cozy corners with lawns and paths connecting them to the fray.
Wawbeek hospitality is in the Adirondack tradition-- welcoming, comfortable, and catering to the need for restoring the soul and regaining the balance of life... to breathe the Balsamic air and smell the woods, to paddle and swim the waters, to glide or clomp across the snow, to loaf, read and sleep, to walk, hike and explore. And of course, to dine at your leisure.
"The Wawbeek's restaurant is one of the best in the Adirondack Park. The setting is simply wonderful." --The Adirondack Book
