This gracious Victorian Inn was built at the turn-of-the-century, using the lumber from the famous Leadville Ice Palace. The history of the original Ice Palace began 100 years ago when Leadville constructed the world's largest working Ice Palace. It contained an ice rink, a grand ballroom, a riding gallery housing a carousel and toboggan runs. The Palace lasted just one year, but the history lives on at The Ice Palace Inn, which is located on the same site. Come stay and hear the story of Leadville's Famous Ice Palace.
Romantic guest rooms, elegantly decorated with antiques and quilts, each with an exquisite bath, are named after the original rooms of the Ice Palace.
Guests may begin the day with a delicious gourmet breakfast served at their convenience in the dining room. The varied menu includes just-baked breads, fresh fruit and such entrees as German Apple Pancakes or Stuffed French Toast, topped with a fresh fruit smoothie.
Afternoon teas and goodies are available daily and can be enjoyed in front of the fireplace in the parlor or in the Game Room while working on a puzzle or playing a board game. There is a nightly turn-down service at which time a mint is left on the guests pillow.
