The Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast is a late 1800's farmhouse built by Charles and Bertha Philbrook. It is located on 5.5 acres in the Mt. Washington and Androscoggin River Valleys, surrounded by the White Mountains. Several guestrooms have views of Mt. Washington, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Madison. Other guestrooms have views of Reflection Pond and the Androscoggin River. The 7 guestrooms all have private baths and include 2 suites with whirlpool tubs, television and vcr, 2 suites with television and vcr, 2 king size rooms, and our cozy room with a double bed. The rooms are all named after the various birds in the area: Bald Eagle, Eastern Wood Pewee, Barn Swallow, Northern Mockingbird, Chickadee, Goldfinch, and Nuthatch. A full country breakfast is served between 8 and 10 am in the Hummingbird Breakfast Room. Every morning is started with freshly brewed coffee, orange juice, and a fruit dish. The entree is different every day: a variety of stuffed French toast, orange spice French toast, Amaretto French toast, pancakes, omelets.









Activities abound in the White Mountains, however, if you should choose a quiet day you can curl up on the sofa in the "Knowing Room" to read a book in front of the fireplace or sit on the porch and daydream. In the afternoon a plate of brownies or chocolate chip cookies magically appear along with a cup of hot chocolate or tea. While you relax you might even catch a glimpse of a moose, or one of the 3 Bald Eagles who hunt in the area. Whatever you choose to do the Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast will make your stay a memorable one.
