Westlund'S River'S Edge B&B, Portland, Oregon
Sauvie Island is a rural/wildlife area 10 miles from downtown Portland. Our B&B is on the Columbia River side of the island, which provides an ever-changing view of the commercial river traffic heading to and from the Port of Portland, as well as smaller pleasure craft. During the Rose Festival time, it is especially exciting to watch the ships from the US Navy, Coast Guard, and Canada arrive and leave. We have 100' of private sandy beach and a large, grassy shaded picnic area.
The guest area is on the first floor of our home (proprietors live on the second floor) and includes 2 bedrooms with queen beds and views facing West over fields and towards Forest Park hills, a large common sitting area with TV/VCR; video library, a woodstove, a kitchenette equipped for cooking, and a shared bath with tub and shower.
Guests have private entrance from the parking area immediately in front of the guest area; in addition, there is a another door out the back to the beach. Breakfast is served upstairs, which affords a full view of the river. A large deck facing the river is also available for guest use.
