By The Way Bed And Breakfast, East Middlebury, Vermont

By the Way Bed and Breakfast is an artist owned village homestead built in the mid 1800's. The house has been tastifully restored and is filled with authentic country antiques collected over four generations. The result is a blend of warmth, charm and comfort. There are two spacious guest bedrooms, each with it's own private bath. The guest livingroom has color cable TV and an extensive library of books and magazines, many about Vermont. An excellent breakfast is served at the pine harvest table in the dining room which features two bay windows. The Victorian wrap-around porch encompasses three sides of the house and is furnished with rocking chairs, wicker, and window boxes. You may want to enjoy a cup of coffee and the morning paper while watching hummingbirds in the gardens below. Our 20' x 40' inground swimming pool is located back in the old apple orchard where a hammock hangs. Adirondack chairs are placed in the shade of an ancient maple. The sound of the water and the play of light in the gardens give you a great feeling of tranquility.
