Johnson House B&B, Johnson, Arkansas
Johnson Arkansas Bed and Breakfast near University of Arkansas
One of the landmarks of Northwest Arkansas, the historically registered Johnson House was built in 1882 by Jacob Q. Johnson. The two-story brick home has 12 foot ceilings, 8 foot windows and an impresive spiral staircase which makes two complete circles from the ground to the attic. The hand-cut stone front porch, steps and windowsills add to the architectural importance of the house. On 1.75 acres of grounds are the original brick smokehouse and stone wellhouse. The smokehouse is now a charming antique shop.
Located between Fayetteville and Springdale, just off Hwy 71, Johnson House is nestled in the rolling hillside east of the restored Johnson Mill. It is convenient to the University of Arkansas campus as well as many area attractions.
The house is furnished with antiques throughout and there are many Johnson family pieces as well as family photographs in the home. Three gracefully restored bedrooms with private baths are offered to the discriminating traveller.
