Visiting Cole House is like stepping back in history a hundred years. The 1883 Second Empire mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was the home of Cole Porter's grandfather. Period furnishings are scattered throughout the home. Cole House is renowned for its many special features. Exotic hardwoods were used extensively in the home. All downstairs rooms have intricate parquet floors, each with its own unique design. Four magnificent fireplaces and huge pocket doors grace the main floor. Beautiful chandeliers and ornamental plaster ceilings complete the decor. Four large bedrooms are available for guests, each with its own private bath, cable TV, and air conditioning. The
