Freeman as his private residence. A picture of his clipper ship, the Kingfisher, hangs in our entry hall. Converted to an Inn in 1946, our location on 2 acres of lawn and gardens, in Brewster on Cape Code, Americas Sea Captains' town, is an ideal central location for enjoying all that Cape Cod has to offer. Voted "1994 Inn of the Year" by the readers of "The Complete Guide to Bed and Breakfast, Inns, and Guesthouses," the inn is filled with history and romance, including many of Captain Freeman's personal possessions. Elegant architectural details abound throughout the Inn; ornate plaster ceiling molding imported from Italy, original hardwood floors laid in a light/dark herringbone pattern, an Italian marble fireplace mantle in the parlor, and a commanding center staircase with a carved walnut banister. Chef Carol, who specializes in low fat healthy food, serves your full gourmet breakfast fireside in the winter or in warmer weather on the wrap-around porch overlooking the inground pool. Her winter cooking schools, which began in 1992 and focus on cuisine of the Mediterranean countries, are popular with guests and fill up quickly.
