What is a guest home? It is a private home that has extra baths and bedrooms, that has been opened to the public for lodging.
This type of lodging started in the Catskills after the Great War. Folks found that vacationers and artists, attracted to the areas by its clean air and natural beauty, needed lodging. Twin Gables was opened during this period.
The Hoffman Family purchased Twin Gables in 1940. We have kept the ambiance of the period in furnishings and hospitality, while upgrading facilities to modern standards.
There are nine bedrooms, three with private bath and AC. The rest of the bedrooms share two and a half hall baths. All baths have showers.
A stay at Twin Gables takes you back fifty years, in what may be the last "Guest Home--in the Catskills."
Location: two blocks from village center makes easy walking access to most things. Fifty miles south of Albany. One hundred miles north of New York City. Ten Miles from New York to highway (#87) exit #20. Albany Airport and Stewart International (Newburgh) are one hour's drive. Brochure available.
