Gilbert Inn Bed And Breakfast, Seaside, Oregon
Situated on the extreme northwest corner of Oregon is the small community of Seaside. Being beside the sea is only one of the many charms of this small resort town.
The Gilbert Inn, Seaside's only Queen Anne Victorian, was built as Alexander & Emma Gilbert's Summer home. They had immigrated from France and having prospered ion their new homeland, they built this rustic getaway.
The inn now features 10 guest rooms, all with private baths, queen size beds, color television, private parking, in-room tlephones and a full breakfast. Like most bed and breakfasts, we left the past intact and added the comforts of today for the enjoyment of our guests. Our breakfast room seats 16 copmfortably and the morning sun floods the room that was once the party room and side porch - a real garden setting. The house features the 1892 natural fir tongue and groove ceilings and walls on the first two floors. The parlor features a large fireplace and is filled with flowery country French furniture and antiques.
The Gilbert Inn is a wonderful escape to the past and you can walk to everything - one block from the ocean and one block to Broadway. (our main street)
