WELCOME TO THE VIEW FROM FAIRHILL FAIRHILL is situated on a country road four miles from the center of Middlebury. It lies on 75 acres of woodland, marsh, meadow and cropland. It has a stream and several beaver ponds.
Wildlife is abundant. There are fox, coyotes and naturally beavers. Hawks and a variety of other birds are frequent visitors. The house is surrounded by stone walls and stands on a ridge overlooking a small valley. Elephant Mountain rises to the east of the valley and the Adirondacks are to the west. The southerly view is down the valley, and to the north the country road disappears into a maple woods. The center chimney cape was built in 1825 and has been completely renovated. It is tastefully furnished with antiques. The three fireplaces are used during the cold months. A sizable library is at the guest's disposal. The bright breakfast area, an 18th century granary, has pastoral views in three directions. Fairhill has three guestrooms. One is furnished with a four poster double bed and has a private bath. The other two rooms, furnished with a double and twin beds respectively, share a bath.
