Almost l00 years old, Oar House was renovated in l993 to provide modern amenities. Its central location in the picturesque Nye Beach area allows guests to walk to the beach, the bayfront, performing and visual arts centers, shops, galleries, and excellent restaurants. . Keiko (the orca whale star of "Free Willy") once lived at at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, three miles away. His tank has been converted into three sections with acrylic tunnels to walk through and be surrouned by fish, including sharks.A commodius guest living room with bar area and sitting room with fireplace and music system provide comfort and ambience. Following early coffee, the innkeeper serves a "Gourmet" inspired breakfast in the new morning room area. A unique feature of the inn is its lighthouse tower from which guests have panoramic views of the Pacific from Yaquina Head to Yaquina Bay.

Guest rooms are located in different areas of the house, and each is unique. The bedrooms have queen-sized beds and private baths. Two rooms have whirlpool tubs for two, one has a six-foot soaking tub, and one has an oversized shower. The house is decorated with international art, Persian carpets, oriental objets d'art, nautical paraphernalia, and eclectic collections. Libraries, periodicals, and daily newspapers add to guests' pleasures.
