Inn At Ojo, Ojo Caliente, New Mexico
The ambiance of the Inn at Ojo is peaceful, clean, New Mexico Territorial. The Inn is owned by Zemmie and Tom Wimett with help from daughter, Claudia, and Bill Page. The Wimetts have lived in NM since the early '50s. Zemmie, long-time antique shop owner, and Tom, a retired Los Alamos physicist make guests feel like old friends with sparkling conversation, tales of NM, bridge or ping pong. Guests find a warm welcome at the Inn at Ojo. The building is newly renovated and well insulated to be cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. Across the shady courtyard grass from the Inn is the Mercantile at Ojo, a large old adobe building. There Zemmie and 3 Wimett daughters sell Santa Fe Re-Creations coats and jewelry they design and make as well as clothing, books, local art and such things as, oh say, wooden benches. The local hot spring -baths & pool, massages & wraps- as well as the timeless Anasazi ruins make the Inn and the area a focal point for "new age" happenings - teepees and earthships, holistic health and unusual music.
