Laurels, Lake Junaluska, North Carolina
Our two-/story , four-square home sits on 1.5 acres, shaded by lovely old hemlocks, stately white oaks and surrounded by rhododendrons and laurels. The Laurels is furnished with family antiques, many hand crafted with woods from local forests and maintains the warmth and charm of a stately mountain home. Rock on the expansive side porch or relax in the parlor with a glass of sherry. Fine linens, down comforters, terry robes, fresh flowers and gourmet chocolates pamper guests. A full breakfast, casual in atmosphere, is served on fine china, crystal and old family silver. The Laurels lies in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Waynesville.
Have you ever wanted to solve a murder mystery? Do you think you can do a better job than Peirot, Miss Marple or Matlock? Now you, along with two or more couples you choose, are suspects in a murder mystery and must solve the case. The settings may be an English Country Manor, archaeological dig or one based on a daytime TV series. Your adventure begins with cocktails Friday evening and continues with an elegant gourmet, 5 course dinner Saturday evening, when the Mystery is solved. Saturday and Sunday breakfasts are included. The cost is $ 250.00 per couple.
