Flat Rock Inn, Flat Rock, North Carolina
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places this 1888 Inn offers Victorian elegance in a quiet country setting. A wide veranda with rocking chairs beckons guests to relax and stay a while. The Inn ambience is characterized by the credo: "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much".
Guests have four themed decorated rooms to chose from. The Colonial Room features a queen sized plantation bed where "George" might have relaxed. Victoria had no secrets in the Victorian Room, full of lace and stuffed bears. The Squire or honeymoon Room features a 6 & 1/2 foot claw footed tub in an alcove of the room. Carl Sandburg's presence can be felt in the Carl Sandburg Room.
Relax early with a special house blend coffee and join other guests for a full gourmet breakfast served family style. After a day of activities return for some of Sandi's baked goods, peach juleps and relax on the veranda or enjoy a game of bocce ball, ping pong or horse shoes.
The Flat Rock Playhouse is located 1/2 mile from the Inn and offers great entertainment from June to October. Beds turned down, mints on the pillows adds the finishing touch to an enjoyable day.
