Built in 1918 as a single family home along the Tennessee river and adjacent to what is known now as the University of Tennessee. The home was converted to a European style Inn during the 1982 World's Fair and has been operating ever since as a unique downtown Inn. All 11 guest rooms were carefully set-up with distinguished bathrooms, most feature sunken mirrored tubs, Jacuzzis or Roman marble tubs. Keeping the guests comfort as a top concern and answering to todays' travelers, most rooms have king size beds, some with two double beds. All the rooms are furnished with antiques and and reproductions that were ordinarily found in a European Inn in the yesteryears. Practicality and functionality were applied to all the renovations and restorations done earlier this year. Satellite televisions, individual climate control to each room, as well as antique desks and work areas for the business travelers. These modern amenities are usually behind the relaxing English decor, but could be easily found when needed. The Inn is located just one block away from the downtown business district, the waterfront and easily accessible from I-40 & I-75 making it a wonderful alternative for the transient business travelers and Knoxville visitors who appreciate the central location, the rustic atmosphere, and the comfort of this unique Inn without compromise.
