Lamplighter B&B, The, Ludington, Michigan
Ludington Michigan Bed and Breakfast with Canoe Rental and Fishing Charters
Victorian style, European elegance and American comfort are the "Theme Song" of
The Lamplighter. Massive oak pocket doors with intricate brass hardware glide silently to separate the dining room, living room and parlor from the rest of the house. Deep soft carpeting alternates with beautifully finished hardwood floors. The grand staircase with its curved natural golden oak banister, supporting railings and unique newel posts is the centerpiece of this centennial home. A beautiful working fireplace in the living room, decorated with ornate porcelain tiles and brass frame work supplements cast iron warm water radiators to take the chill out of wintry evenings.
Throughout the house there are numerous original paintings and limited edition lithographs by various European and American artists, antique furnishings, crystal chandeliers and other objects d'art collected in Europe and America. Each piece blends tastefully and harmoniously to create an ambience of elegance which is the hallmark of The Lamplighter. All rooms have modern private baths and are individually decorated with antique and contemporary furnishings. Queen size beds in cherry, oak, antique iron and brass, or brass frames provide for restful nights. Rooms are air-conditioned and include a color TV and a telephone with a private line.
