Colonial Rose Inn And Restaurant, Grand Detour, Illinois
Grand Detour Illinois Bed and Breakfast with Dixon Petunia Festival
The Colonial Rose Inn was built in 1855-57 as a private residence by local business man Solon Cumins. It was constructed along classic Italianate lines. The big brick building was converted to a hotel at the turn of the century and has been selling rooms tourists ever since. The adjoining estates are homes on spacious grounds. It is on almost 3 acres of landscaped lawns shaded by many tall trees.
Owners Jayne and Jeff Rose purchased the inn in 1993 and completely renovated & updated the home. Enjoy the queen size rooms with private baths. Enjoy a full breakfast each morning. The inn also boasts a fine dining restaurant and lounge. The restaurant is THE place to go for great food and wonderful service. Both the restaurant and bed & breakfast are completely smoke free. The restaurant is open Wednesday thru Saturdays at 5:00 p.m.
