An historic 4-story 1840s country inn with a gabled roof found on a national scenic route at the threshold of Echo Lake and surrounded by spacious lawns, a tennis court and swimming pool. The 25 guest rooms range from suites to shared and family units and have been individually decorated, some with antiques. Sit by the fire and read a book, enjoy a cocktail in the intimate lounge, or relax in one of the antique red rocking chairs on the front porch and watch the birds feeding in the evening. Stroll through the brilliant fall foliage, relax in the Jacuzzi, take a steam bath, or experience Echo Lake in a complimentary canoe or boat. The full service dining room, recognized in Bon Appetit, Vermont Magazine, Gourmet and the Wine Spectator, features gourmet cuisine painstakingly prepared by our professional chefs and served by candlelight in a casual country setting. Porch dining is available during the summer. Sample culinary delights such as fresh Lobster Ravioli, Rainbow Trout sauteed with artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes, or our famous Roast Country Duckling. In the morning, enjoy a full country breakfast from our buffet or menu.
