WinterCabin, "Where the Stars Sleep Beneath the Northern Lights," offers new log cabins, fully carpeted, good beds, in a peaceful environment. Cabins are equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, toasters, barbecuing facilities. This is the real Alaskan experience...the easy way. Decorated in Alaskan bear and wolf themes, cool in the summer, warm in the winter. Just a short walk to the large separate, shared bathhouse, where you'll find all the modern convenienuces including an Alaskan-sized bathtub with shower and lots of hot water. The WinterCabin cabins are built on the original site of the world famous "Tent In Tok" where the Bernhardt family of four spent 13 months living in an old MASH-type army tent. Temperatures dropped to 70 below zero while they survived the harsh environment. Owned and operated by Poet Laureate of the Alaska Highway, Donna Blasor-Bernhardt.
