River Place Inn, Pierre, South Dakota
The River Place Inn, on the banks of the Missouri River just outside Pierre, lets visitors hop in the hot tub and look out on the water. Sunsets are breathtaking. Jerome Jacobs built the inn so close to the river that you see only water when you look west.
The geese, ducks and bald eagles start arriving by mid November and stay though the winter in the open water right outside River Place Inn.
Connie Jacobs cooks a variety of breakfasts including an Italian oven- baked omelet, sour cream/cottage cheese pancakes, buffalo sausage and always fresh fruit and juice.
