It has been a stagecoach stop, an Indian trading post and Train Depot. During the renovation great care was taken to preserve the original structure as the oldest part dates to the 1840s. Hacienda Vargas has seven bedrooms,all with private entrances, private bathrooms and fireplaces. Four suites have jacuzzi bathtubs and three double jacuzzis. All rooms are dressed with antiques and SW touches. Outdoor gardens and sitting areas for star gazing and counting hummingbirds are abundant. A full and delicious breakfast is served daily. Hacienda Vargas is located in the village of Algodones, approximately 30 minutes south of Santa Fe, 15 minutes north of Albuquerque, 20 minutes north of Albq. Airport. It is the perfect respite for day trips to most NM attractions. There's convenient and great dining just 5 miles south in Bernalillo. Come to Hacienda Vargas for a great central spot to visit all of NM, a private retreat, a family retreat or to even elope in its historic adobe chapel.
