Nestled in the picturesque Pikes Peak Region in Colorado Springs and near the historic districts of Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, Holden House offers "The Romance of the Past with the Comforts of Today". Built by Isabel Holden, this 1902 storybook Victorian, carriage house, and adjacent rose Victorian, are centrally located in a residential area. The inn, lovingly restored by the Clarks in 1985, is filled with antiques and family heirlooms. Named for Colorado mining towns, each of the five romantic guest suites feature private baths with oversized bubble bath "tubs for two," and are appointed with queen beds, period furnishings, private sitting areas, fireplaces, television/dvd/cd, refrigerator, iron/ironing board, hairdryers, private label amenities and snuggly robes. Gourmet breakfasts, served in the elegant formal dining room or en suite for an additional charge, might include chocolate chip muffins, Sallie's famous Southwestern Eggs Fiesta, fresh fruit, gourmet coffee, tea and juice. Complimentary refreshments, and afternoon wine social, homemade cookies, and turndown service are just some of Holden House's special touches. Guests can relax in one of the many common areas including the living room with Van Briggle tile fireplace and wingback chairs, front parlor, verandah with porch swings, wicker furniture and views of the cottage garden or you might prefer to relax in our "secret" back garden, complete with gazebo and fountains. While the Holden House specializes in catering to romantic getaways, our business accommodations provide both the convenience of a hotel and and a centrally located (just 1 mile west of downtown), comfortable "home away from home" atmosphere. Modern conveniences include in-room phones/modem hookups, desks, fax and copier on-site and our special "Early Risers Breakfast" for those who need to make morning business appointments. Sallie and Welling will be happy to help in planning your itinerary around the many activities in the Pikes Peak Region, most within easy driving distance. Friendly resident InnCats Mingtoy and Muffin will greet you. Holden House is a non-smoking establishment.
