Two Sisters Inn-- A Bed And Breakfast, Manitou Springs, Colorado
Manitou Springs Colorado Bed and Breakfast near Mueller State Park
Nestled at the base of Pikes Peak, this Victorian bungalow was built in 1919 by two sisters from Iowa as a boarding house for school teachers. In 1990, it was purchased by Sharon Smith and Wendy Goldstein who converted it into an Historic Preservation award-winning bed and breakfast inn.
The care that the innkeepers have lavished on the inn is obvious from the beautiful stained glass front door to the restored original hardwood floors and Manitou stone fireplaced. Upstairs was transformed into four lovely guest rooms with original bedsteads featuring hand- pressed linens, clawfoot tub and skylights. The romantic guest cottage in the back garden is complete with shower skylight, 1906 toilet, featherbed and gaslog fireplace.
Family heirlooms and photographs, local artwork and flowers from the Inn's gardens are featured throughout the house. An 1896 piano graces the parlor along with a red velvet fainting couch and library full of cookbooks.
Prepare yourself for a sensory culinary experience at breakfast-- healthful and creative menus, both delicious and exquisitely presented.
Manitou's Historic District abounds with art galleries, antique shops, fine restaurants and its famous drinking Mineral Springs, the source of Two Sisters' sparkling lemonade.
