Folke Stone, a historic Chester County Bed and Breakfast provides a perfect setting for a romantic and relaxing getaway. This charming renovated fieldstone house, with is open beam ceilings, and random width floors, dates back to the early 1730's and was part of William Penn's land grant. The welcoming area is the former winter kitchen with a stone crane fireplace and bee hive oven. Off of the kitchen there is a hospitality center with the makings for hot and cold beverages, fruits and treats. A gourmet breakfast on weekends and most weekdays is served in the Great Room, flanked by two original stone fireplaces and wide window sills. On extra warm days breakfast can be enjoyed on the veranda, an idyllic setting overlooking a pond. For the fitness-minded there is a Nordic Track. A Steinway piano is waiting to by played. In trying to provide a healthy environment for our guests, we ask you not to smoke inside the house.
The Jenny Lind bedroom with its open beam ceiling and antique spool double bed and furniture promotes dreams of yesteryear. The King Louis room with its king-size bed is decorated with French Provincial furniture. Handmade Amish quilts adorn two twin antique brass beds, which are often made into a king-size bed, in the Lancaster room. There are private hall bathrooms for each bedroom.
The Amish country is 30 minutes and historical Philadelphia is 50 minutes away. We are an hour's drive from Philadelphia International airport.
