Cranmore Mt. Lodge, North Conway, New Hampshire
Cranmore Mt. Lodge sits on eight beautiful acres surrounded by majestic pine, maple and birch trees. The main inn was built originally as a farm house in the 1860's and has been added to over the years to make it a comfortable country inn for every type of traveler. The inn welcomes guest year round and every season brings new delights; from winter sports, to spring hiking and canoeing, to summer theater and outdoor events, and beautiful foliage for all visitors.
The inn is rich in history having been owned by Babe Ruth's daughter, Julia, and her husband from 1939 to 1950. The Babe and His wife, Claire, were frequent visitors to the inn and many memorabilia items and photographs still decorate the inn. Guests can stay the night in his favorite room, still maintained with beautiful pineapple four poster beds.
Innkeepers, Dennis and Judy, are theater performers and often present a play at the inn for guests. Dennis is an accomplished pianist and almost every night can be found performing Broadway show favorites on the inn's beautiful baby grand piano.
