Abigail Adams' Bed & Breakfast By The Sea, Cape May, New Jersey

Abigail Adams' Bed & Breakfast by the Sea is a charming Victorian cottage built in 1892 by Stephen Decatur Button right in the center of the primary historic district. It is one of the "Seven Sisters of Cape May," seven identical houses fronting on Atlantic Terrace and overlooking some of the prettiest beaches in Cape May.

Its proximity to the beach affords you not only spectacular views of the ocean from most of our guest rooms, but also gentle sea breezes to cool you in the summer and the rhythmic sounds of the ocean to soothe your spirit at any time during the year. From the front porch, you can see families of dolphins swimming and playing just beyond the surf and the beach itself is a crazy quilt of brightly colored beach umbrellas and bright red lifeguard stands.

When the weather turns brisk, after an invigorating walk in town or along the beach, you can curl up by the wood burning fireplace in the parlor with a good book.

You will appreciate Abigail's informal country Victorian style: English country antiques, handmade quilts and cheery chintzes set against pastel backgrounds.

Breakfasts at Abigail's are served in the hand stenciled dining room. The menus range from delicious quiches and fruit pancakes, homemade muffins and coffeecakes, and fresh fruits and juices.

Come to Cape May soon and enjoy the warm hospitality that Abigail Adams provides to her guests.
