Evans House Bed & Breakfast, Thomasville, Georgia
Thomasville Georgia Bed and Breakfast near Pebble Hill Plantation
Located in the Parkfront Historic District of Thomasville, GA, across from 27-acre Paradise Park, this restored Victorian home is within walking distance of Historic Downtown, antique shops and fine restaurants. This fully restored home features turn of the century antiques with an arrangement of antique icons over the entrance hall fireplace. One of two full blocks of late Victorian homes built on "Park Front," the Evans House was built by Robert R. Evans for his family in 1898 and died in November of that same year. His wife, Rose Neel Evans, added the second story around the turn of the century. The house had a fire in 1907-08 after which it was remodeled as it is today. As Mrs. Evans' brothers and sisters were married, they would come and live with her family, paying rent, of course, until their first child or until their own home were built. In this way, Mrs. Evans could support her family and the house. According to a daughter, Rose Evans Miller, when the brides and grooms lived in the house, "We called it 'Honeymoon House on Paradise Park'."
