Newly constructed in 1996, the Brightwood Inn resembles a vintage farmhouse nestled on 14 acres of meadow within the confines of Matthiessen State Park, about 90 miles southwest of Chicago. Nearby is Starved Rock State Park, the most popular state park in Illinois. The inn has seven beautifully decorated guest rooms, each featuring its own style of decor.





Besides books and board games, the library contains complimentary beverages and a bottomless cookie jar. A full breakfast is served to all inn guests and the evening meal is open to both guests and the public, Thursday through Sunday. Special lunches can be arranged for business meetings, bridge groups, bridal and baby showers, as well as private parties.
