Stay on the grounds of the Victorian mansion called "Tennessee's Biltmore" by PBS. Built in 1896 by Gorilla Pants manufacturer Clay Faulkner, the mansion's peaceful surroundings inspired him to call it Falcon Rest.



"Restful" also describes Falcon Manor, the four bed and breakfast guest suites located on the mansion's five-acre grounds. The antiques and decor of the suites reflect those of the mansion itself, but -- following Clay Faulkner's example -- they're equipped with all the "modern conveniences:" private baths, telephones with free local calls, TV with 150 channels, individual heat and air controls, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, coffee pots (by request in some rooms). Free high-speed internet access is available in all rooms except the Honeymoon Suite(where guests probably have other things on their minds.)



Full gourmet breakfasts are included in room rates, and sumptuous dinners are available on Friday and Saturday nights by reservation. Optional guided tours of Falcon Rest, "the Victorian mansion where history is fun," can make the visit especially memorable.



Though in a peaceful country setting, Falcon Rest is just minutes from downtown McMinnville. Its central location between Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville makes it an ideal base for a Middle Tennessee vacation.
