Baltimore Street Bed & Breakfast, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

The 1868 home built on the foundation of a civil war home, is located in the middle of the small town's historic district. The home built five years after the Battle of Gettysburg was built on top of the cellar where John Rupp, the home's original owner, witnessed the fighting between the two sides. At one point, Rupp had Union soldiers occupying the front porch and Confederate soldiers on the rear porch, so Rupp in a letter to his sister, Anne, dated July 19, 1863 considered himself on "neutral ground".

Today, that neutral ground is the home to nine comfortable and spacious bedrooms, each with its own special charm. Choose from a first-floor bedroom with high cathedral ceilings, to an attic loft full of angled walls and country design.

Awaken each morning to fresh homemade blueberry muffins, the house specialty and a bottomless cup of fresh coffee as part of our full breakfast.

The Baltimore Street Bed and Breakfast, as one Danish traveler recently wrote before departing after a visit to Gettysburg, "We came here from Denmark, the home of Hans Christian Anderson, but this inn is a fairy tale in itself."
